CSIR National Chemical Laboratory invites applications for the following post via direct recruitment :

Post Name : Principal Project Associate

Essential Qualification :

(i) Masters Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent; and

(ii) Eight(8) years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services; OR ME /M.Tech in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent with Six(6) years experience in R&D in industrial and Academic Institutions or S& Organizations and Scientific activities and services;

OR

(i) Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharma/MD/MS from a recognized University or equivalent; and

(ii) Four(4) years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.

Desirable :

(i) Next Generation Sequencing OMICS platforms and techniques

(ii) Understanding of oxford nanopore technology platform for sequencing

(iii) Basic understanding of molecular biology and genetic engineering

(iv) Basic Bioinformatics and phylogenetic analysis

(v) Knowledge of genomics and statistics

(vi) Experimental experience with sequencing whole genomes especially SARS CoV2

(vii) Natural Language Processing

(ix) Coding experience in multiple languages including Python, Jupyter notebook etc.

(x) Excellent written and verbal communication required with exceptional organizational skills

(xi) Resident of Pune or willingness to relocate immediately to Pune
