Essential Qualification:

  • M.Sc Microbiology/ Marine Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Environmental Biotechnology/ Marine Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Mrine Biology.

  • M.Sc in Geoinformatics/ Environmental Science/ Physical Oceanography

  • B.E/ B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunications/ Computer Science Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering OR M.Sc. Electronics/ Instrumentation.

  • BE/B.Tech Electronics & Communication/ Computer Science or M.Sc Physics/ Electronics/ Oceanography with Physical Oceanography Spealisation/ Meteorology with NET/GATE qualification. Incase of Non-NET/GATE qualified candidates, M.Sc/B.Tech/B.E candidates will be considered for the same position and the emoluments will be 25000/-

  • M.Sc. Marine Science/ Marine Biology/ Environmental Science/ Zoology/ Marine Biotechnology.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the analyses of marine microbial samples, molecular biology techniques, sample collection and preservation of marine samples for microbiological and biotechnological applications.Collection of seawater, biological and sediment samples for microbiological, biochemical and molecular biology analyses, participation in local and outstation field works, analyses and tabulation of data, assisting scientists in preparation of project reports

  • Experience in any programming knowledge such as C++, Python and working knowledge in Ferret.Satellite data processing for oil spill detection and simulation of oil spill trajectories/particle tracking models.Satellite data processing for oil spill detection and simulation of oil spill trajectories/particle tracking models.

  • Development of underwater Robots, Improvements and testing of robot. Mechanical structure Design and Development. Participation in Field Work, Boat trips and ship cruise may be required.

  • Experience in ADCP data analysis and computer programming (C / Fortran / C++ / Perl / Animation/Python). Programming support. Participation in field trips including cruises. ADCP and Satellite data analysis and any other project related task assigned by the Project Leader.

  • Experience in zooplankton ecology and taxonomy.Participation in field work, oceanographic cruises, collection and analysis of samples (plankton) using modern tools, data analysis and to assist the scientists in project related activities.
