Post Name: Project Associate-I
Essential Qualification:
1. M.Sc Marine Biology or Marine Science
2. Masters in Biotechnology/Marine Microbiology/Microbiology/Veterinary Science
Desirable:
1. Minimum one year of research experience (after M.Sc.) for collection of seawater and plankton samples. Should have experience in going on reseach cruise and boat trips. Knowledge of plankton identification and quantification.The selected candidates need to assist the scientist in the laboratory experiments, collection & analyses of samples, and data processing and writing of reports. The candidates will be required to go on cruises and fieldwork for the collection of samples.
2. Candidates should have SCUBA diving certificate. Candidates with dissertation work on coral reefs, benthic fauna assessment, Remote sensing and mapping skills, and data analysis using R software will be preferred.Selected candidate shall show a willingness to travel to remote places and conduct independent research on coral reefs. He/she shall assist Project Investigator in all project matters. Underwater data acquisition, data analysis, project report writing, mapping, data analysis, and publications must be done.
3. Experience of handling invertebrate model organisms, hands on experience of cDNA synthesis, cloning and expression techniques, and basic bioinformatic tools.Selected candidate shall show a willingness to travel to remote places and conduct independent research on coral reefs. He/she shall do sample collection, microbial isolation, identification, and in vivo experiments. Candidate shall assist Project Investigator in all project matters. Underwater data acquisition, data analysis, project report writing, and publications must be done.
