Event Information

ICMR National Institute of Virology invites online applications from eligible candidates for admission in doctorate programme. The important details of the admission process are listed below -

Course name: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Educational Qualification: The candidate should have a Postgraduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/Health Sciences with at least 55% or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA). Students belonging to reserved category will be eligible for 5% relaxation.

Essential Qualification: The candidates should have a valid Junior Research Fellowship from CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR/ DBT/ BINC/ DST-INSPIRE fellowship or Teacher fellowship. Candidates who have qualified GATE, or are selected in the categories of Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET), DBT- Category II and JRF under research schemes of ICMR are not eligible. ICMR-NIV does not take any responsibility to provide financial assistance to the candidates.

Admission Details

ICMR National Institute of Virology invites applications from eligible candidates for admission in various programmes. The method of admission will be Course Admission and Fellowship. Applications are invited with reference to advertisement number 01. Quota/Reservation will be provided to the following categories: Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and PWBD Quota. The selection process will include an Interview process. After compilation of all the procedures, the candidates will be posted at Pune, Maharashtra, India, 411011.
