National Institute of Urban Affairs invites applications for the following posts via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Urban Planner

Essential Qualification:

  • Masters degree in Urban Planning or other related fields, with an understanding of sustainable development, spatial planning, public policy, etc.

  • Degree/Diploma in Geographic Information System (GIS)/Geoinformatics or equivalent from a recognized University /Institute.

  • Detailed understanding of central, state and local government data-sharing laws and processes.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar kind of work as mentioned in Clause A.

  • Proficiency in use of GIS and mapping software, including ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Map and open-source GIS tools is an advantage.

  • Candidate should have knowledge of using Satellite Imagery, and be proficient in the use of GIS datasets.

  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with an ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with Central Govt./ State Govt./ National Urban Missions (SMART City, AMRUT, etc.)/ Multilateral and bilateral organizations/ Local Bodies/ Resource centers/ NGOs/ Communities.

  • Experience in spatial planning, data management and integration with Web-GIS based application, will be an added advantage.

  • Experience of working on cad astral maps, land use layers, etc. for planning purpose on GIS Platform.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • A good command over Marathi and Hindi is desirable.
