Essential Qualification : The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an autonomous advanced research institute established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) with the mandate to carry out research on mult-disciplinary issues. IGIDR also offers Post Graduate/ Ph.D Programmes in Economics and contemporary policy issues and is recognised as a Deemed University by the University Grants Commission

Essential Work Experience : The person should be a distinguished academician, with a minimum of ten years of experience as Professor in a University or ten years of experience in a reputed research and / or academic administrative organisation with proof of having demonstrated academic leadership
