Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites applications for the following posts via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Member

Essential Qualification:

(a) The applicant should be a citizen of India and a holder of a Bachelors degree.

(b) The applicant should have held a position that is -

(i) Not less than two levels below that of a director of a company, or the member of the governing body (by whatever name called) of any other body corporate, which is either a listed entity or has paid-up equity capital of at least 100 crore or has an annual turnover of at least 500 crore as per its last audited financial statement; or

(ii) Not less than two levels below that of the head of an academic or policy research institution;

(iii) Not below a Joint Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent in the Central Government or a State Government, or in any attached office or subordinate office or public sector enterprise of such a government, or in a statutory or autonomous body under the administrative purview of such a government.

(c) The applicant should have special knowledge of, or practical experience of at least five years in making policies or administering programmes for, or otherwise effectively advancing the cause of, -

(i) Responsible use of information; or

(ii) A safe, trusted and accountable cyber space; or

(iii) Empowerment of women or protection of children; or

(iv) Security of the State or criminal justice.

Essential Work Experience:

(a) The applicant should have experience of expressing in writing consideration by her/him of matters requiring identification of issues between contending parties or points of view and deciding or otherwise articulating her/his view in a speaking and reasoned manner.

(b) The applicant should have knowledge or experience of applying in practical contexts provisions of law that help protect citizens and society from information that may be harmful.

(c) The applicant should have knowledge or experience of the functioning of online intermediaries, including social media intermediaries.

(d) The applicant should be proficient in the use of digital means for online disposal of work.

(e) The applicant should have a track record and general repute of adhering to high standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
