Post Name: Project Associate-I

Essential Qualification:

  • M.Sc Marine Microbiology / Marine Biology / Environmental Studies / Oceanograhy with Biological Oceanography Specialisation.

  • M.Sc. Hydrochemistry/Marine Chemistry/Marine Science with specialization in Chemical Oceanography

Desirable:

  • Practical skills in Environmental Microbiology and PCR techniques are desirous.The candidate must be an excellent team worker who would be expected to perform the full complement of research experiments required towards the furtherance of the project, maintain accurate data, perform critical data analyses, prepare/make presentations and review and annotate literature. Specific assignments may include but would not be restricted to participation in ocean cruises, isolation, identification and preservation of microorganisms, take responsibilities in support of the laboratory in general. The candidate while working independently must interact closely with the supervisor and implement the decisions from time to time.

  • The candidate having experience in the chemical analyses of seawater, sediment and biota will be preferred.Selected candidate will have to carry out extensive field work onboard research vessels and fishing boats, perform the processing and analysis of water, sediments and biota, maintain and manage project database, and preparation of reports.
