Mangalore University invites online applications from eligible candidates for admission in Doctorate programme. The important details of the admission process are listed below -

Course name: Doctor of Philosophy

Educational Qualification:

1. Candidates for admission to the Ph.D programme shall have a Masters degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Masters degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). Foreign students, including those applying through their Govt. agencies/embassies should contact the respective department in which they intend to register for the Ph.D Programme, to get clearance from the Department Council concerned through the Director, International Student Centre of the University.

2. Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Programme with course work, with atleast 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) are eligible to register for Ph.D Programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/ CAT-I (non- creamy layer)/ differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per UGC norms.

3. Candidates Possessing a degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree with Course work of an India/Foreign Educational Institution shall be Eligible for admission to Ph.D programme.
