Recruitment Details

West Bengal Police Recruitment Board invites application for various posts. Total 330 number of vacancy/vacancies have been announced in the notification. Applications are invited with reference to advertisement number WBPRB/NOTICE-2021/21(SI_KP-21). The minimum age limit is 18 and maximum age limit is 27 as on date. Age relaxation will be given to the following categories: SC/ST Categories, Other Backward Classes and Government Servant/Departmental Candidate will be as per the government rules. Quota/Reservation will be provided to the following categories: Unreserved, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes . The examination will be conducted through Offline mode at Regional level. There will be a Physical Test. After compilation of all the procedures, the candidates will be posted at Kolkata, West Bengal, India, 700046.

Recruitment Rule in respect of Transgender Persons

The Calcutta Police (Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspectress) Recruitment Rules, 2023 notified vide No. 224-PL/PE/15S - 205/21, dated, Howrah, the 1st day of February, 2023 of Home & Hill Affairs Department, Police Establishment Branch, Government of West Bengal extends its purview for Transgender Persons as follows : (1) U/S 2(d) - “Transgender person” means a transgender person as defined in clause (k) of section 2 of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 (40 of 2019).(2) U/S 5(f) - Transgender persons are eligible to apply for the posts of Sub-Inspector of Police (Unarmed Branch)(3) U/S 6(c) - The criteria of Physical Measurement Test (PMT) for Transgender persons
