Essential Qualification:
A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule of the said Act shall also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of the section 13 of the said Act and National Medical Commission Act, 2019. Candidate must be registered in a State Medical Register and National Medical Register except in the case of teachers with non-medical qualifications.
A postgraduate qualification recognized by the Board of Governors in supersession of National Medical Commission New Delhi or equivalent thereto (i.e. if a person with postgraduate medical qualifications awarded in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or New Zealand desires to take up a teaching appointment, his/her qualification can be considered as equivalent qualification with MD/MS/DM/M.Ch. as the case may be, for the post in the respective departments in medical colleges in India), is required. Diplomat National Board (DNB) shall be treated as equivalent to MD, MS DM, M.Ch. qualifications of the respective broad/super-specialties as per NMC Notification issued from time to time.
Essential Work Experience: A total of 14, 10, 06 and 03 years of teaching and/or research experience at a NMC (erstwhile MCI) recognized teaching institution, after the prescribed MD/PhD degree for the posts of Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, respectively; or 12, 8, 4 and 1 year of teaching and/or research experience, respectively, after obtaining the degree of DM/M.Ch. (02 year duration) in the concerned specialty; or 11, 7, 3 and 0 years of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the degree of DM/M.Ch (03 Years duration) as on last date for submission of applications.
