MSc in Marine Sciences (specialization in Marine Chemistry/Marine Geology) / Hydrochemistry / Chemistry (Organic / Inorganic / Analytical Chemistry) or equivalent degree
B.E / B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electronics and Telecommunications / Computer Science Engineering/Electronics
Desirable:
Minimum one year of research experience (after M.Sc.) for collection of seawater and plankton samples. Should have experience in going on reseach cruise and boat trips. Knowledge of plankton identification and quantification. Also NET (LS) will be preferred.The selected candidates need to assist the scientist in the laboratory experiments, collection & analyses of samples, and data processing and writing of reports. The candidates will be required to go on cruises and fieldwork for the collection of samples.
Required knowledge of SolidWorks / 3D printers / Analysis Software.To assist scientists in mechanical design and development, participation in field deployment of instruments, fabrication of small components, etc.
Experience in handling sophisticated instruments e.g. ICP-OES; ICP-MS; Ion chromatography and working in metal free clean lab for TEI processing and analyses. To participate in field trips onboard cruises for collection of PMN samples and other observations/monitoring. To analyze trace metals and isotopes in sediments/PMN samples. Any other project related work assigned from time to time.
The candidate having proficiency in sample digestion, handling geochemistry related instruments like XRF / ICP-MS is preferred. The candidate should have a valid passport. Selected candidate will have to do sub-sample and digest marine sediments / rocks / nodule for trace metal and isotopic analyses, prepare the samples for XRF analyses. The selected candidates will have to participate in oceanographic cruises as and when required.
Working knowledge with packages in Coraldraw, Linux, Python, Java etc and other languages. The candidate should have a valid passport.The selected candidates will have to participate in oceanographic cruises as and when required.
