National Centre for Earth Science Studies invites application from eligible candidates for Walk-in-Interview for the following posts:
Post Name: Project Scientist-IEssential Qualification:
(i) Ph.D. in Marine Science - Oceanography or equivalent from recognized University OR M.Tech. in Ocean Technology
(ii) M.Sc. in Marine Science/Oceanography/ equivalent or M.Tech. in Ocean Technology with minimum 60% marks in PG Degree
Desirable:
(i) Experience in nearshore data collection: deployment of oceanographic instruments, beach and sediment sample collection, post- processing of oceanographic data, shoreline mapping, beach profile measurements etc.; computation of volume changes, shoreline mapping and data analyses
(ii) Experience in Numerical Modelling (expertise in using Modelling softwares such as MIKE 21/Delft/ROMS/WAVEWATCH III and LITPACK)
(iii) Programming skill in using MATLAB and Python
(iv) Involved in research studies related to infra- gravity waves, coastal processes, etc.
Post Name: Project Scientist-II
Essential Qualification:
(i) Ph.D. in Marine Science - Oceanography / Marine Geology or equivalent from recognized University
(ii) M.Sc. in Marine Science/Oceanography/ Marine Geology/equivalent or M.Tech. in Ocean Technology with minimum 60% marks in PG Degree
(iii) Minimum three years of experience in relevant field
Desirable:
(i) Experience in nearshore data collection: deployment of oceanographic instruments, beach and sediment sample collection, post-processing of oceanographic data, shoreline mapping, beach profile measurements etc.; computation of volume changes, shoreline mapping and data analyses
(ii) Experience in Numerical Modelling (expertise in using Modelling softwares such as MIKE 21/Delft/ROMS/WAVEWATCH III and LITPACK)
(iii) Programming skill in using MATLAB and Python Experience in sedimentological, geochemical mineralogical shelf/estuarine studies, shoreline evolution, coastal protection studies
(iv) Involved in research studies related to infra-gravity waves, coastal processes, sediment budgeting etc.
