Punjab Remote Sensing Centre invites applications for the following posts via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Junior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification:

  • Masters degree in Remote Sensing / GIS / Geoinformatics OR Masters degree in relevant subject with PG Diploma in RS and GIS from recognized and reputed institution/university Relevant Subjects: Urban Planning/Civil Engineering/Computer/IT science or engineering

  • Post Graduate in (M.Sc/M.Tech) in Remote Sensing and GIS/Geomatics/ Geoinformatics /Physics/Geology/Geophysics Or

  • Graduate (BTech) with PG Diploma in Remote Sensing GIS

  • Selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship and GATE OR

  • Selected through National level examinations conducted by the Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, MHRD, DOS, DRDO, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

  • Bachelor degree in Science/Engineering

  • Postgraduate degree in Remote Sensing and GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Geospatial Technology (or related subjects) along with CSIR/UGC/ICAR- NET/GATE OR

  • Bachelor degree in Science/Engineering

  • Post-graduate in Agriculture Sciences and Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and GISalong with CSIR/UGC/ICAR- NET/GATE

Desirable:

  • Good Knowledge of Remote Sensing and GIS and related application software and tools

  • Experience of handling Planetary datasets

  • Proficiency in Machine Learning/Data Science using Matlab/Python/R

  • Proficiency in GIS and Image Processing Techniques

  • Good knowledge of machine learning/data science/artificial intelligence in at least any one of the programming languages such as MATLAB, R or Python etc.

  • Proficiency in GIS and Image Processing Softwares c.

  • Experience in interpretation of data and writing reports/papers in peer reviewed journals
