Educational Qualification: For direct recruitment to the post of Guard, it is necessary for the candidate to have passed the High School examination from the Board of Secondary Education, Uttarakhand or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Government.

Essential Qualification: Other things being equal, preference shall be given in the matter of direct recruitment to a candidate who has

(i) served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years or

(ii) has obtained B or C certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
