National Institute of Plant Genome research invites applications for the following posts via direct recruitment:
Post Name: Project Associate-II
Essential Qualification:
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-07/2020 dated 25/08/2020 and having Master’s degree (Biological Sciences) with at least 60% (in master degree) or equivalent with two years post-masters degree experience are eligible to apply. The candidate is required to have working experience in RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis. qRT-PCR analysis and mutant screening through PCR genotyping, CRISPR mediated mutant generation with legume plants, and in-depth knowledge in map-based cloning. Prior work experience in the field of root nodule symbiosis will be given preference.
The successful candidate is expected to work on Chickpea root nodule symbiosis screening and understanding the molecular mechanism behind different nitrogen fixation efficiency by different chickpea varieties.
Post Name: Junior Research Fellow
Essential Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019, and having Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences with at least 70 % (or equivalent) marks are eligible to apply. Candidate with experience of working with molecular biology techniques and or histochemical analysis etc will be given preference. Also, knowledge on root nodule symbiosis and lipid signalling is desirable.
