National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research invites application from eligible candidates for Walk-in-Interview for the following posts:

Post Name: Junior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification:

  1. MSc in Oceanography/Atmospheric Science/B.E or B.Tech in Electrical engineering (with atleast 60% marks) from a recognized university.

  2. CSIR-UGC NET-JRF/ NET-LS/ GATE qualified.

  3. Masters Degree in Marine Science/Marine Biology/Environmental Science or equivalent (with atleast 60% marks) from a recognized university

Desirable:

  1. Experience in climate data analysis and statistical analysis. Knowledge in programming language Python/Matlab/Fortran and operating system Unix/Linux.

  2. Knowledge of biological/chemical sample collection and analysis.

  3. Experience/knowledge of conducting field observations / sampling.

  4. Participate in scientific expeditions for sample collection in Southern Ocean/Antarctica.

  5. Basic knowledge of programming language (Matlab/ Python/R or similar) will be an advantage
