Essential Qualification:
A Good academic record with a PhD in Political Science, or other related areas of Elections Studies and Electoral Management from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university and an active engagement in research with strong publications record
A Masters degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Political Science or related areas of Election Studies and Electoral Management from an Indian University or foreign universities
The preference may be given to those candidates having PhD and demonstrated expertise and experience in research and teaching in the area of Political Science and /or other related areas of State Politics, Electoral Management, Elections and Mass Politics with evidence of published work of high quality in the form of authored books / monographs/ publications in peer reviewed journals Candidates are expected to possess the ability to teach courses with the focus on comparative politics and also facilitate development of curriculum in the areas of democracy and electoral management, and electoral administration
Essential Work Experience: A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with minimum of seven publications in the peer reviewed or UGC listed journals and total research score of seventy-five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Notification 2018
Desirable:
PhD in Political Science
Areas of Specialisation Democracy, State Politics, Electoral Institutions, Electoral Behaviour and Mass Politics, Electoral Laws and Reforms, Electoral Education, and Electoral Management and Administration
Candidates with prior teaching and/or experience of development of curriculum in the field of political science, state politics and electoral management will be preferred
Research and published work in peer-reviewed journals in the relevant fields
