CSIR National Institute of Oceanography invites applications for the following post via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Project Assistant

Essential Qualification: 

  • BSc in Zoology.

  • BSc in Mathematics/Physics/Geography/Electronics/Information Technology/Computer Science, or BCA or Diploma in Computer Science/ Information Technology.

Desirable: 

  • Experience on wetland and marine biodiversity field surveys. Participation in fieldwork onboard boats, plankton sampling, analyses and data preparation.

  • Experience in identification of estuarine/marine benthos. Knowledge about the sampling and data analyses of the respective fauna. Field sample collection in the coastal/estuarine areas by boat/ trawler/cruise participation. Sample processing and identification of macrobenthic fauna to the lowest possible level. Data analysis and writing of reports.

  • The candidate should have good knowledge in operation of MS Office, Windows OS, Linux OS, Programming Language.Candidate will be engaged in various field data collection, processing, interpretation and report writing.
