Indian Statistical Institute invites applications for the following post via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Hindi Officer

Essential Qualification:

1. Masters degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or

2. Masters degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or

3. Masters degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or

4. Masters degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English with English medium with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or

5. Masters degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two subjects as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level be in form; and

6. Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or 02 years work experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government office including a Government of India Undertaking;

Essential Work Experience: Terminological work in Hindi or translation work from English to Hindi and vice-versa, preferably 05 years of work experience in translation of scientific and technical literature or at least in the field of Hindi translation and state language implementation in scientific research institutes/scientific educational institutions Preference will be given to the candidates having at least 05 years of work experience.

Desirable: Knowledge of Acts, rules, regulations, orders etc. related to official language issued by Central Government and knowledge of typing in Hindi and English on computer is essential.
