National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration invites online applications from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D programme. The important details of the admission process are listed below -


Course name: Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. Programme

Educational Qualification: A candidate seeking admission to the Integrated M.Phil/Ph.D. Programme or Ph.D. programme shall have a minimum of 55% marks (50% shall be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layers)/ Differently-abled category in the entrance examination conducted by the Institute) or its equivalent grade in Master’s Degree in Social Sciences and allied disciplines from a recognized university. Candidates possessing Masters degree in other areas may also be considered if he/she has teaching experience or experience of working in the area of Educational Policy, Planning, and Administration.

Course name: Ph.D. (Full-time) Programme

Educational Qualification :

(1) A candidate seeking admission to Ph.D. (full-time) programme should meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned in Para (a) & (b) above.

(2) M.Phil. Graduates will be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. Programme after due scrutiny by the Admission Committee, if they obtain an FGPA of 5 or above on the ten-point scale.

Course name: Ph.D Part-time Programme

Educational Qualification: A candidate seeking admission to a Part-time Ph.D. programme is required to meet the following criteria: (i) Should meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned in Para 3.1 (a & b) above; (ii) Currently, should be in full-time employment; (iii) Should be a senior level educational functionary with a minimum of five years’ work experience in teaching/research in educational policy, planning and administration.

Admission Details

National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration invites applications from eligible candidates for admission in various programmes. The method of admission will be Course Admission and Fellowship. The examination will be conducted through Offline mode at Regional level. The selection process will include an Interview process. After completion of all procedures, successful candidates will be granted admission to New Delhi, Delhi, India, 110011.
