National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal invites application from eligible candidates for Walk-in-Interview for the following post :

Post Name : Highly Skilled

Essential Qualification : The candidate must possess Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering /Electrical Engineering / Materials Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with a CGPA of at least 8 or equivalent.

Essential Work Experience : The candidate must have experience in independently operating both the equipment as listed below.

(1) X-ray Diffractometry :

(i) Must have at least two years of experience in handling sophisticated X-ray diffractometers (XRD) and handling a variety of samples in powder, solid, or coated form from preparation to measurement stage.

(ii) Specifically, must have experience in handling glancing incidence XRD (GI-XRD), measurement, and analysis of residual stress and texture.

(iii) Must be experienced in handling XRD-associated software used for phase identification of samples and carrying out Rietveld refinement.

(iv) Must be capable of independently analyzing and reporting the measurement results.

(v) The candidate is also expected to have some experience in the maintenance of the equipment and interfacing with the service engineer in case of emergency.

(2) UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometry : Some experience in the measurement of optical properties of the samples using Absorbance, Reflectance, and transmission modes of measurement where the samples can be in powder, liquid, or in coated form and post-processing of the measured data.
