National Institute of Urban Affairs invites applications for the following posts via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Urban Planner

Essential Qualification:

(1) Master’s degree in Urban Planning or other related fields, with an understanding of sustainable development, spatial planning, public policy, etc.

(2) Detailed understanding of central, state and local government data-sharing laws and processes.

(3) Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with an ability towork in a multicultural environment.

(4) Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Essential Work Experience : Minimum 5 years experience in similar kind of work as mentioned in Clause A.

Desirable:

(1) Degree/ Diploma in Geographic Information System (GIS)/ Geo-informatics orequivalent from a recognized University /Institute will be preferred.

(2) Proficiency in the use of GIS and mapping software, including ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCADMap and open-source GIS tools is an advantage.

(3) Candidate should have knowledge of using Satellite Imagery, and be proficient inthe use of GIS datasets.

(4) Experience of working with Central Govt./ State Govt./ National Urban Missions (SMART City, AMRUT, etc.)/ Multilateral and bilateral organizations/ Local Bodies/ Resource centers/ NGOs/ Communities.

(5) Experience in spatial planning, data management and integration with Web-GIS-based applications, will be an added advantage.

(6) Experience of working on cadastral maps, land use layers, etc. for planning purposeon GIS Platform.

(7) Proficiency in spoken and written English. A good command over Marathi and Hindi is desirable.
