Essential Qualification:

  1. M.Sc. Chemical Oceanography / Hydrochemistry / Marine Science / Marine Chemistry

  2. M.Sc. Marine Biology / Marine Science / Biological Oceanography / Aquatic Biology

  3. M.Sc Marine biology / Oceanography with Biological Oceanography Specialisation / Marine science / Aquatic sciences

  4. M.Sc Microbiology / Marine Microbiology

Desirable:

  1. Experience in seawater analysis and participation in field trips by boat. Participation in field trips in the coastal Bay of Bengal by boats, collection of water samples and analysis for elemental composition.

  2. Experience in identification of phytoplankton/zooplankton. Participation of field trips in the coastal Bay of Bengal, collection of samples and identification of phytoplankton/zooplankton using microscopes

  3. Hands on experience in the collection and identification of phytoplankon, zooplankton and benthos.Participation in field trips on boat/research vessels. laboratory analysis of samples for quantification of biological characteristics. Any other project related work assigned by the project leader

  4. Hands on experience in aquatic water sample analysis for total viable bacteria, viable count, DNA extraction and metagenomics of marine microbial community. Participation in field trips on boat/research ships for sample collection. Laboratory analysis of water samples for microbial community (bacteria). Any other work related to the project

Essential Qualification:

  1. B.Sc with Zoology/Botany.

  2. B.Sc Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry

Desirable:

  1. Experience in laboratory analysis of plankton. Participation in field trips on boats, analysis of samples and assisting the scientist for analysis work.

  2. Experience in the laboratory analysis of chemical constituents in seawater and industrial effluent samples To participate in the field campaigns onboard fishing boats/research vessels. Laboratory analysis of chemical constituents in water samples. Any other project related work
