Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali invites applications for the following post via direct recruitment:
Post Name: Junior Research Fellow
Essential Qualification: M.Sc./M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/Climate Science/Geophysics/Oceanography/Hydrometeorology/Computer and Civil Engineering/Physics or and disciplines related to Environmental Science from a recognized University/Institution with minimum 65% marks or equivalent CGPA. Applicants should also have qualified one of the following: CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test, including NET- Lectureship and/or GATE or equivalent. JRF should be encouraged to enroll Ph.D. program at IISER Mohali.
Desired qualifications: Prior research experience in regional or global modelling of the climate or Earth system, preferably experience with limited-area climate models is desired. Familiarity with the analysis of data sets from climate models. Prior research experience in WRF modelling (WRF) and data assimilation is desired. Familiarity with the analysis of data sets from climate models would be a big plus. Knowledge of appropriate programming languages such as FORTRAN, NCL, Python, and shell scripting.
