ICAR Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute invites applications for the following posts via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Junior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification:

  • Post graduate degree in marine science and related areas with four years professional degree OR

  • M Sc in Physical/Chemical/Biological Oceanography/ Marine Biology or related disciplines with NET qualification. Those with 3 years Bachelors degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent or PhD in any of above disciplines (As per ICAR memorandum F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13.07.2015 and F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 09. 10.2015).

  • Knowledge in swimming/Swimming or diving certificate.

  • Knowledge in handling GIS softwares (QGIS, ARCGIS)

Desirable:

  • Ocean observations (in-situ, remote Sensing, ship based), laboratory analysis, processing of high-resolution ocean/atmospheric data including bio-optical, physicochemical & fisheries data, process studies, etc.

  • Data analysis software (Ferret, ODV etc.), programming languages (Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran, etc.), Satellite Data processing (SeaDAS, SNAP etc.).

  • Experience in Carbon sequestration measurements, primary production measurements, Bio-optics, water chemistry studies

  • Cruise experience
