Application Summary
National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research invites application from eligible candidates for Walk-in-Interview for the following posts:
Post Name: Junior Research Fellow
Essential Qualification:
(i) Master’s degree in Physics/Earth Sciences/Remote Sensing/ Geoinformatics/ Hydrology/Environmental Science or its equivalent or bachelors degree in engineering or technology in the relevant subject from a recognized university or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level
(ii) Qualified in national level examinations i.e. CSIR-UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) or GATE
(iii) Masters degree in Physical Sciences/Earth Sciences/ Atmospheric Sciences / Chemical Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Remote Sensing/ Geo-informatics/ Hydrology from a recognized university or equivalent with atleast 60% marks in the qualifying degree.
(iv) Masters degree in Physics/Mathematics/ Oceanography /Marine sciences or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 60% marks.
Desirable:
(i) Knowledge of Himalayan glaciology and ability to carry out glaciological field work in high altitude regions of Himalaya.
(ii) Experience /ability to handle field and lab instruments/techniques/ modelling.
(iii) High-level physical fitness to undertake glacier studies in Himalaya;
(iv) Exposure to Himalayan field studies and/or geospatial studies and image processing related to Himalaya.
(v) Knowledge in computational programming/oceanographic data processing / numerical modelling.
