Essential Qualification:

  • First Class Masters Degree in Botany/Plant Sciences or related fields with Ph.D in the concerned subject.

  • First Class Masters Degree in Forestry/ any branch of biological Sciences/Environmental Sciences/Agriculture/Forest Economics and Ph. D. in the subject concerned

  • First Class Masters Degree in Botany/Plant Sciences and Ph.D. in the concerned subject.

  • First Class Masters Degree in Basic Science (Physics/Chemistry Mathematics/ Statistics/ Botany/Zoology) with PhD in the subject concerned.

  • PhD in Physical Sciences/Earth Sciences/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering with first class Masters Degree in relevant subject. The topic of the PhD research should be related to Climate Change Studies.

  • 1st Class MSc in Mathematics and PhD in Mathematics.

Essential Work Experience:  15 years in a research /academic/R&D institution or organization , of which 10 years should be at a senior level provided that 5 years shall be in the grade of Senior Principal Scientist (L13A as per 7th CPC) OR shall be presently holding the grade of Chief Scientist (L14 as per 7th CPC). Equivalent positions/ grades in academic institutions/industry will also be considered. Experience should be indicated by high quality publications and demonstrated ability to guide research and manage multidisciplinary teams to create an environment conducive to R&D/education/extension. Interest/competence in Plant Taxonomy/ Tropical Botany/Economic Botany/Conservation will be desirable.
