Kerala Agricultural University invites applications for the following post via direct recruitment:

Post Name: Assistant Professor

Essential Qualification: 

• Bachelors Degree from the concerned Faculty recognized by the Kerala Agricultural University. The clause concerned faculty is not insisted in the disciplines of Agricultural Statistics, Biotechnology, Home Science and Mathematics. In the case of posts coming under Faculty of Forestry, basic degree in Forestry is insisted.

In the case of posts coming under Faculty of Agricultural Engineering – Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Engineering recognized by Kerala Agricultural University. Provided that this shall not be insisted for those who have taken up make up courses of at least 12 credits in the semester system or 18 credits in trimester system for PG courses in Agricultural Engineering from Kerala Agricultural University.

In the case of posts coming under Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the qualification should be recognized and included in the first or second schedule to the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984 and registered with a State Veterinary Council.

• Masters degree in the relevant subject recognized by the Kerala Agricultural University with a minimum OGPA of 3.00/4.00 in the trimester system or 8.00/10.00 in the semester system or 55% marks in the traditional system or their equivalent. Only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark is permissible.

• NET conducted by ASRB/ ICAR/ UGC/ CSIR/ AICTE or similar test accredited by the UGC or who are or have been awarded a PhD Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M Phil/PhD Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/ SLET/ SET:

Provided, the candidate registered for the PhD programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/ Bye-laws/ Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such PhD candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/ SLET/ SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:-

1. The PhD degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;

2. The PhD thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;

3. An open PhD viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

4. The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her PhD work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;

5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her PhD work in conferences/Seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency. OR

• The PhD degree has been obtained from a foreign university/ institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Desirable: 

• Knowledge in Malayalam language to read and write.

• PhD in the relevant subject recognized by the Kerala Agricultural University.
