Post Name: Senior Project Associate

Essential Qualification:

  • Masters Degree in Sciences, Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent AND

  • Four years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Doctoral Degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology from a recognized University or equivalent

  • Doctoral Degree in Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Botany or related field from a recognized University or equivalent

  • Masters Degree in Natural Sciences or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent AND

  • Four years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR

  • ME/M. Tech in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent with two years experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or S&T Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR

  • Doctoral Degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology/ Pharma/ MD/ MS from a recognized University or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated ability in science communication written and oral. Experience in participating in institutional outreach events in science research institutes or science festivals

  • Fieldwork experience of at least two years in plant ecology and/or trait ecology

  • Ability and strong interest in taxonomic identification of plants

  • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with data analysis in Program R

  • Demonstrated track record of publications

  • Excellent communication and time-management skills

  • Strong work ethic and independent project management abilities

  • Ability to work in remote locations and tough conditions

  • Experience using linear mixed effects models with good knowledge of model inference

  • Experience in analysis of high throughput genomic and epigenomic data such as Next Generation Sequencing based data. Should be well versed with Linux/bash/command line interface, and have the ability to create and modify custom pipelines for data analysis. Should also have experience in bioinformatic and statistical tools for system based analysis combining various kinds of OMIC data as well as large phenotype data. Good programming knowledge with proficiency in at least one language such as C, C++, R, Python, JS, or Perl, as demonstrated by publications or github profile or other code repositories will be preferred

 

Post Name: Project Associate-II

Essential Qualification:

  • Masters Degree in Natural Sciences or bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent and

  • 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services

Desirable:

  • Two years of experience in molecular biology techniques like DNA isolation, PCR, library preparation for NGS and/ or at least one year of experience in analysis of high throughput genomic data such as Next Generation Sequencing based data in areas of population genomics, metagenomics, microbiome.

  • Good programming knowledge with proficiency in at least one language such as C, C++, R, Python, JS, or Perl, as demonstrated by publications or github profile or other code repositories

  • Should be well versed with Linux/bash/command line interface, and have the ability to create and modify custom pipelines for data analysis Experience with analysis of population level genomic data or metagenomics will be considered favourably

Post Name: Project Associate-I

Essential Qualification:

  • Masters in Natural Sciences/ M.V.Sc/ Wildlife Science/ Molecular Biology/ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University.

  • MSc in ecology, wildlife biology or allied field

  • Masters Degree in Natural Sciences or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Candidate(s) with prior experience in some of these: wildlife science; field biological studies; animal abundance estimation; field sampling techniques; DNA isolation; use of PCR; basic molecular biology techniques; use of GIS; work in the Eastern Ghats. Should be able to carry out intensive field work with limited logistic support. Carry out lab work and analyses of data as per requirement.

  • Field experience in measurement of plant traits (i.e., during an internship or thesis project) The project aims to understand traits associated with drought tolerance in saplings of dry deciduous tree species to model their response to climate change and invasive species in a dry tropical ecosystem. The work will involve data collection in the field and greenhouse. Candidate will be expected to manage field assistants, organize and implement field work, plan and implement greenhouse experiments, collate and compile data, and conduct preliminary analysis. The candidate will have the option of working on a research paper depending on interest and ability. Knowledge of Telugu is also desirable but not mandatory.

  • Experience in molecular biology with special reference to human genomic and epigenomic analysis
